Challenge Accepted

So I'm sitting in the living room, just lazing my day away with my laptop before me. My grandma's weaving some sort of bag. She saw this Prada straw tote on the internet and I told her it was USD 880, much to her shock and dismay lol. So I guess she was like, "okayyy.. challenge accepted. I shall make something out of blue rafia string and make it look more than USD 880." So yea. she's weaving away now. not bad actually. I mean I guess she's really into handicraft and all. She used to make all my racial harmony day costumes since I was a kid. no joke. Like since I was 4, I have been wearing her creations. One thing I really love about this grandma (forget about having to wait on her and drown her with compliments) is that she actually lets me live in my fantasy. As in, she creates the right environment for me to continue dabbling(?) with my make belief  persona. Let me show you what I mean.

LOL so yea. this is what I mean. Everything was made by my grandma. From head to toe. Maybe even the red scarf Alyssa's holding. Yea, posing with me in both photo's my cousin Alyssa. hahaha! we grew up together I guess.. used to have baking and sleepover sessions and stuff. It's such a pity we're not close anymore. hahaha! and yea, now we all wonder why one of my closest friends in the world is called Alissa right.

Anyway yea, after being exposed to the wonders of Huan Zhu Ge Ge in P1/K2 (I forgot), I wanted to travel through time or smth and be a Chinese princess hahaha! And coincidentally, my grandma must have had one of those 'challenge accepted' moments again when she saw the costumes on HZGG. So she made 2 sets for Alyssa and I. hahaha! Don't we look cute?^^ and yes, I wore this for Racial Harmony Day/Chinese New Year celebrations in P1. and my friends didn't like me very much because I used to sit in the first few rows (you know when we had to sit on the hall floor in 2 straight lines), and my headpiece was blocking their view of the lion dance performance or some shit on stage. So they kept scolding me/bitching about me behind my back I think. hahahah! yea and this wasn't the only set that granny made for me. I have this wardrobe full of cheongsams and samfoos, all made by her. And 2 more head pieces. One's mongolian style with all the beads hanging down lolol! The other one's a qi tou (like in the photo).. but she really adapted the design from HZGG this time and had only one big flower in the middle (i think it was a fake daisy)

Tmr's gonna be Racial Harmony Day for my sister and she was supposed to wear a Kimono we got some time ago. But when we opened the packaging, there was no instructions. So after trying it on and attempting various ways of tying the obi and stuff, we're just gonna screw it. hahaah! my sis can just go wear one of my many cheongsams. She's probably getting the yellow one I made in Shanghai. hahahah!

okayy so Bangla guy's still working away in the pond. He's getting the house fixed in time to handover to the new owners. hahaha! He's been plastering and painting all morning and afternoon and I'm amazed at how he's not hungry/tired. I mean he started at 10am and didn't stop for a break... maybe I should go offer him something later... There's a red bucket next to me with our kois swimming inside. Idk whether they'll die because they seem to be coming up to the surface quite frequently (for air?) that's what we learnt in primary school right? I mean there's an electric pump providing oxygen for the kois. but is that sufficient? :/

Anyway, I met 2 of my future Les Roches schoolmates yesterday. Chelsia and Sharon. Chelsia's from Cedar. She was like my Sec1/2 classmate actually lolol. small world eh. Sharon's from Chatsworth. Coincidentally, we are both epic ponners who find trouble being punctual for school. so I guess that's a start right? hahaha! and the school just replied Ruby that they stopped accepting room mate requests. oh man:( So I guess I can only wait and see who my room mate's gonna be. But if I really want, I could always request to room with Ruby hahah! I mean, we were talking about tvb dramas and actors yesterday via whatsapp hahaha! I'm sure we're gonna be such great pals woohoo!

so... it's not so bad having my grandma stay over I guess... I mean she keeps smiling at me (freaky). and if we don't talk at all, it's not awkward! she does her weaving, I do my laptop stuff. we're good. hahahah! so I guess I might survive...
