5 reasons why Switzerland's the perfect place to be in

So hungry as I'm sitting in the office! Really regret not grabbing some food from the fridge before I left home since I was waiting for my dad to come pick me up anyway sigh. I blame it on the fact that the fridge's too full for me to actually locate or even see what I want #firstworldproblems. Anyway, I guess I'll just have to deal with it till lunch. Less then 3 hours to go! That is if I take the 12pm time slot. If not, I guess I could just have some warm water to fill up the tummy temporarily.

So I'm leaving for Switzerland next Wednesday (actually Tuesday night I'll be at the airport. Flight's around midnight). Not that psyched to return frankly, but I guess the fact that my mum and sis are coming with me this time round makes it a tad better. So to better prepare myself mentally for my return, I shall come up with a list of 5 reasons why I actually like Switzerland and why I should look forward to going back.

1) The weather

Yes the climate there's way better! Minus the cold, my skin actually does better there. No more dried skin and eczema and hello clear flawless sexy legs lol. Also, no more sweating when walking in the open with makeup. In fact, I can keep makeup on longer in the day without my face getting unnecessarily oily. Also, in summer, it's really nice and breezy. No overly blazing sun scorching on your back. Except if you're dumb and you sit in the front parts of the funi because the roof of the funi at the front part is made of glass and of course if the sun shines in, your thighs get burnt. No shit.

2) Absolute freedom

Mhmmm, it's basically own time own target there. I'll just do my own thing without getting nagged at, nuff said. And I'll have my own space too

3) The Italian food

I've said this before, and I'll say it again. You can find authentic Italian food outside of Italy, but Singapore isn't one of such places. Basically if you're in Europe (and in a place relatively close to Italy), you're pretty much safe and can most probably find decent Italian pizza or pasta. I'm just so glad that in Sierre and Crans-Montana, there are a few good Italian restaurants to choose from and since I absolutely love my mushroom risotto, it's a really awesome place to be at. And the prices are... normal I guess. Not too expensive, but not cheap to the extent that you're cautious.

4) The overrated scenery

Ok so whenever people tell me I should really appreciate my time in Switzerland because the scenery's so beautiful, what with the glorious mountains and lakes that look exactly like what we see on chocolate wrappers (of actyige atas Swiss chocolates), I always retort that well, it's just overrated. I mean, yea its beautiful if you see it occasionally. But not everyday. Especially when you're freezing in the snow and you don't want anything more than to get out of this snow globe. The presence of these scenic snow mountains before you just seems like an added insult to your pain. But then again, how often will I get to see this when I'm back in Singapore? And what else will be as iconic and symbolic of Switzerland as these mountains? It's not like those students in city campuses in Lausanne get to see this everyday when they wake up. So fine. I shall embrace this and yes, it is actually quite pretty. If you're waking up in the comfy warm interiors of your cosy bedroom, and watching the snow fall while your handsome shirtless boyfriend's making hot chocolate for you by the window because you don't drink coffee.

5) The polite little old folks

Can't believe they made it to my top 5. But really, I love it that they're so inclusive and smiley. Always walking their little pets by the lake and actually replying cheerfully when you say Bonjour to them. You would think they belong to the snooty old world, where white supremacy is still a concept they cling on to desperately. But nah, they were very friendly to me (idk if it's because I was always walking next to a pseudo ang moh). Anyway, I'm quite glad they're gonna be my neighbours this coming semester because at least I know I won't be disturbed by drunken parties and all. The most, I'll be the one causing disturbance lol. But then again, I don't think my flat mates are like that, so drink I shall not.

Alright, just completed some more handover work for my colleagues. Made step by step screenshots of the stuff I do in our system. I hope it's clear enough for them:/ 1.5 more hours to lunch. My tummy can't wait! Grace wants to have potato skins hehe. Of course I can't say no to that!
