Anyway so, I actually managed to go clubbing last Friday! Yay! I got what I wanted after all. But I think we drank a little too quickly and got high too fast. Like after dinner and getting ready at home, my dad drove me to Zouk lol (yea I have pretty supportive parents nowadays. gone are the days when I actually have to say I went for a late night movie with my friends. lol I think my parents also felt a little sorry for me because I haven't been out late at night for like the past 5 months. They probably thought I was losing my social life or something) Met up with Haoqing, Geraint and Darryl. Then Darryl's friend managed to get us into Velvet where we had our first round of drinks. Seriously don't know what we had. But it tasted good. I think it was Bacardi with something. Then Joewei came around. We went to this tiny shop behind Holiday Inn to get more drinks and proceeded to the bridge to begin drinking part 2. Wanted to sit on the pavement I guess. Much to our dismay, however, we found the ground (on the pavement and the bridge) wet, courtesy of le Zouk staff lol. They really brought with them a hose la. So yea we had no choice but to stand and balance the drinks. Then after drinking quite a bit, Yvett came along. We had a little more. Finished the bottle and went to the dance floor. I think by then I was alr quite high. Not to the extent of drunkenness but I really couldn't control much of what I was saying and doing LOL. it's really been too long! I think we shuttled between velvet and phuture and zouk all. But I don't remember the music being too fantastic or anything leh. hahah oh well. We left around 3 plus, nearing 4.
Anyway, I've been reading Audrey's blog the past few days. Audrey as in fourfeetnine la (lol like my friend like that. just call her by her name) idk somehow I felt that I could relate to her especially when I went down her archives and read about her journey through school in Mt Holyoke (I'm guessing it's pronounced hall-yo-kee) [EDIT: hmmm so apparently it's pronounced whole-yoke? like that nice meh? hall-yo-kee cuter la hehehe] during her uni days. Like me, her closest friends all left for various parts of the world to pursue their higher education. She left behind friends in Malaysia too and went to America (probably all alone without any other fellow Malaysians in her school at least). In Mt Holyoke, she mixed around with mainly Asians too (like how I did). What amazed me most was that she could tahan being in an all girl's environment through her 4 years there lol (yea Mt Holyoke was a women's college) when people would have thought that your uni years were basically one's golden years to find a partner (plus she was overseas too. abit hard to find a stable life partner like that). But see how everything worked out so well for her anyway. She managed to survive, made so many wonderful friends in school (found Angela, her soulmate), and eventually met Tim only when she came back to Malaysia. hahaha. If Audrey can do it, so can I. But also, reading about her experience in Kyoto (for her year long exchange prog) has prompted me to think about applying to Kendall College for a year's exchange too. Should I ah? or like maybe to France. but that means I have to brush up on my French. but see, Audrey managed to master Japanese while she was there and she survived!
I don't know if its me but I feel that now that I have identified a model similar to my situation, I find more confidence in my path because at least I have something to look up to and for reference. yea I know people always say its up to you to lead your own life. Don't rely on how other's have led theirs to dictate how yours should be like. But really, there's no harm just referring to it from time to time right? At least I know I'm not alone:)
and uh sorry for the gross lack of pictures. I tried camwhoring just now. But uh after discovering what makeup does to you in photos... I think it's best I don't scare you or myself with all my unedited/unfiltered/un made up face. okok Come let me just show you my version of #whatpubertydidtome
